Lady Bulldogs win another sub-district title

The Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs celebrated a fourth consecutive sub-district title and a rare milestone after beating Chase County 65-44 in the C112 final last Thursday night in Bridgeport.

Ruthie Loomis-Goltl reached the 2,000 point career scoring mark in the game. She’s the first player in school history to achieve the feat and only the third in the entire Panhandle. Scottsbluff’s Dru Kuxhausen scored 2,110 points in his career and Alliance’s Jordan Hooper finished with 2,078. Loomis-Goltl, who has signed to play at the University of Colorado, finished with 30 points in the contest to help Bridgeport improve to 23-0 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs will now take on Douglas County West out of Valley in the C1-2 district final on Friday at 5 p.m. at Kearney High School.The winner will qualify for the state tournament in Lincoln. Bridgeport is seeking a third straight state berth.
