The Leyton girls basketball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a pair of wins this past week.
After earning a 55-27 road win at Bayard onThursday, the Warriors cruised to a 72-42 win over Hemingford to go into the holiday break undefeated.
In the win over Hemingford, Zaili Benish erupted for 40 points to pace Leyton in scoring. Benish finished the game shooting 16 of 23 from the field overall. She connected on seven 3-pointers. Benish also finished with four assists and five steals.
