Despite a 52-50 loss to Kimball in the first round of the South Platte Valley Association Tournament on Monday night, the Bridgeport boys basketball team still has a chance to defend its title from last season.
The Bulldogs, who are the fourth seed, will play top seeded Perkins County in the semifinals of the tournament Friday at 2:30 p.m. at North Platte Community College.
Since Bridgeport was the highest seeded team to not win a first-round game of the six-team tournament, it still received a spot in the semifinals. North Platte St. Patrick’s will face Kimball in Friday’s other semifinal at 4 p.m.The winners will meet for the title on Saturday at 5 p.m.
