County briefed on a prospective anaerobic digester project

Delinquent tax list with names to be published next week

County highway department and weed superintendent Bryan Hoerler presented his annual weed control report that articulated 240 inspections, conducted with 90 acres of Canada thistle identified. The board approved the report and thanked Hoerler for his good work. He also reported on his inspection of the road chip seal equipment the board approved for purchase, pending inspection, at a meeting in December.

Former county commissioner and state senator, Steve Erdman, briefed the board on an anaerobic digester and gasification plant project in the works spearheaded by Midori Energy that would be located in the Panhandle to use the manure from 150,000 cattle to produce real natural gas, fertilizer, and renewable “green” diesel fuel for the shipping industry.
