The Bridgeport girls and boys wrestling teams both excelled at district and conference tournaments held last week.
At the Class B, District 4 Tournament in Bayard on Saturday, the Bulldog girls were able to earn a fourthplace finish as a team and qualified five to the state meet in Omaha Feb. 18-19. Qualifying for state were Elizabeth Menke, Kyra Robbins, Morgan Amateis, Cammie Rader, and Hayden Marks.
Robbins led the Bulldogs with a first-place finish at 125 pounds.The senior recorded three pins to advance into the final. She then earned a 13-6 decision over Chase County’s Paige Owens to win the title.
