The season came to an end for both the Leyton girls and boys basketball teams last week.
The Leyton girls finished just one win from advancing to the state tournament after falling to Anselmo-Merna 4542 in the D2-8 district final on Friday in North Platte.With the setback, the Warriors concluded another successful season with a final record of 21-3.
Three Warriors scored in double figures in the district final. Sydney Fortune led the way with 12 points. She hit a pair of 3-pointers. Shawnee Gamble finished with 11 points and three treys. Ella Haley added 10 points. Zaili Benish finished with nine points.
