LINCOLN—A slow start, along with a record-breaking shooting performance, proved too much for the Bridgeport girls basketball team to overcome in a quarterfinal game of the Class C-1 state tournament last Wednesday in Lincoln.
The Bulldogs fell behind 20-0 to start the game and then witnessed Gothenburg sophomore Zoe Beveridge sink a C-1 state-tourney record eight 3-pointers in a 6951 setback to the Swedes.
Bridgeport, which was making its fifth straight appearance at the state tournament, ended another incredible campaign with a final record of 25-2.
