Morrill County Fair Board continue talks with Morrill County Rodeo, Farm and Ranch Association

It was a full agenda on Tuesday morning at the Morrill County Commissioners meeting, with discussion generated on nearly every point.

Top items included the contract that is again in the works between the Farm and Ranch Rodeo Association and the Morrill County Fair Board. MC Schaff has been contracted at a cost of $2,100 to survey a parcel of land the county will lease. Farm and Ranch will retain ownership of the land and will pay for and install a new fence on the established boundary, while the county will pay for the survey. Extension agent Sarah Paisley reported that there has been some backlash on the fair dates. It was noted by commissioners and extension staff that this date is up to the Fair Board. The dates will be discussed at the next Fair Board meeting. Commissioners hope to approve a contract between the two entities next month. Paisley also reported that the extension office hours will be changing to match the hours of the courthouse. She also submitted her annual report; Morrill County is currently reaching 73% of our youth in programming.
