The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular meeting on Monday, March 13, 2023; all board members were present along with Mr. Lambert, Mr. Schlothauer, Mr. Simmons and Ms.Vonnie Brown. In action items the board approved the school calendar for next year with school starting on August 21 and ending on May 16. Christmas Break will be from December 22 to January 3 for students. There will be a two day Spring Break on the Thursday/ Friday of both the Boys and Girls BB state tournaments.
In the other action item, the Board approved offering a 7-12 Principal contract to Mr. Jason Blanco. Mr. Blanco is an Assistant Principal/AD at Scottsbluff Middle School and will receive 105K and family insurance. He will start the beginning of August.
In administrative reports the following items were covered: 1.We are hosting D-5 District Golf on May 15. Teams participating are Bridgeport, Crawford, Creek Valley, Garden County, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Hyannis, Leyton, Mullen, NSP, Paxton, Perkins County, Potter Dix, South Platte and Wallace. This is a great opportunity for our golfers.
