“The second teen event at Bridgeport Public Library was a little quieter than the first, but not lacking in fun,” said Library Director Melissa Butler when five junior high and high school students attended a Cricut discovery event on Thursday night last week. Students learned how to use Cricut software and use the machine to cut colored vinyl and apply it to a black plastic tumbler to take home. All supplies, including the Cricut, were supplied through the Youth Excellence Grant from the Nebraska Library Commission. Imagination was supplied by the youth.
Two more activity nights for teenagers are planned, the first for Thurs., April 20, from 5:007:00 p.m. with a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. The collaborative storytelling and role-playing adventure begins with the Dungeon Master guiding the story and the players by presenting challenges and organizing the overall narrative. No experience or registration is necessary.
Following that, on Thursday, May 4, there will be an old-fashioned game night for the 7th-12th graders, again from 5:007:00 p.m. Bring your friends and join in the fun. Snacks will be provided. For more information on either program, contact the library at 308-262-0326 or email [email protected].
