Two school records broken at SPVA

Bulldog seniors seem to think that records are meant to be broken, as was evidenced at the Southern Platte Valley Association track meet in Hershey April 28. Ruthie Loomis-Goltl broke the Bulldog school record throwing the discus 141 feet, earning a first-place spot at the conference meet. She also took second in the high jump with a fivefoot jump. Alexis Hill broke the pole-vaulting record, vaulting to eight feet one inch to set a new school record.

Other top tracksters for Bridgeport women were Grace Dean, first in shot put with a personal best of 37 feet, 8 inches, and Madison Ribble, 2nd place in the 3200 meters. In the men’s division, Bulldog Leo Carnine took 1st place in high jump at five foot eleven inches. Lady Bulldogs placed fourth behind Chase County, North Platte St. Pats, and Perkins County while the men’s varsity placed sixth overall.

Other top six finishers at SPVA in the men’s division: 800 meters—Gabriel Tretter, 4th place 110m hurdles—Coy Fleming, 6th place 4x100 relay—Jake Paschke, Frank Lopez, Cole Katen, Gabriel Tretter, 5th place 4x400 relay—Andrew Gaul, Logen Leithead, Jose Castellanos, Cole Leithead, 5th place Discus—Logan Bartling, 5th place Other top six finishers at SPVA in the women’s division: 100 meters—Taylor Bright, 4th place 200 meters—Taylor Bright, 5th place and PR 28.11 200 meters—Ella Schluterbusch, 6th place 400 meters—Taylor Bright, 6th place 800 meters—Brooklyn Mohrman, 6th place 1600 meters—Madison Ribble, 5th place 4x100 relay—Taylor Bright, Ella Schluterbusch, Olivia Loomis-Goltl, Brooklyn Mohrman, 4th place 4x400 relay—Ella Schluterbusch, Aubrey Watts, Brooklyn Mohrman, Alexis Hill, 4th place 4x800 relay—Madison Ribble, Mackenzie Liakos, Brooklyn Mohrman, Alexis Hill, 5th place During Best of the West on Tuesday last week, select players from teams from Eastern Wyoming and Western Nebraska in all classes took part in the event at Bearcat Stadium in Scottsbluff. Leo Carnine took the number two spot in the high jump, while Ruthie Loomis- Goltl took second in discus, and Grace Dean placed third.
