Spring heard with music

Bridgeport elementary students held their spring concert on Tuesday night, April 25, in the school auditorium before a large crowd. Each of the six classes stood up to sing three songs they had learned throughout the year, with the usual favorites showing up as part of the mix: kindergartners sang “What is in My Lunch Box?” first graders “Ants Go Marching,” and the second-grade stunner, “The Cat Came Back.”

Of course, no elementary concert would be complete without “Hot Cross Buns” played on recorders, so the third graders obliged with that and two other songs they learned to play on the small instruments. The sixthgrade band followed the recorders, playing two songs they had worked hard on all year. The concert finished with the fourth, fifth and sixth grade singers performing the finale, “Hasta La Vista!”
