Blueprints for thcoming for fairgrounds

As the historic purchase of a portion of the fairgrounds becomes a reality, the Morrill County Fair Board is hoping to have blueprints drawn up and on display at this year’s county fair.The hope is to show the future plans of those seven acres, as was reported at Tuesday morning’s commissioner’s meeting. Moving towards that goal, commissioners signed an engagement letter with Settje Agri-Services & Engineering of Sidney to begin the blueprints.

Bids were opened at the meeting for the chip and seal project for eight miles to the north and east of Northport. Grinding of the road will begin June 12th with the finish date around the first of of August.The road will be closed during the chip seal.They approved the bid from Topcoat, in the amount of $461,156.98.

This will include the chip seal, fog seal, and primer coat.
