It was the trip of a lifetime for Morrill County Veteran and native Gary Tyree when he, his wife Jeannie and daughters Devonna Tyree-Bowers and Shawna Kittelmann drove to “The Ranch” in Loveland, Colorado on April 30, to begin a journey of honor and appreciation.

Tyree was embarking on a two-day trip to Washington DC aboard a High Plains Honor Flight, an all-expense paid trip to see memorials built in the honor of veterans for all wars and conflicts. Tyree was accompanied by his family to the check-in location called The Ranch in the Denver suburb, where he met his honor flight guardian for the trip, Lee Hernandez, a Crime Scene Analyst with the Forensic Services Unit of the Loveland Police Department.
