Commissioners accept bids for county-owned property

NDOT contract states Bridgeport responsible for maintenance of Recreation Road

At the regular county commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday, County Assessor Rose Nelson brought forward a contract for Gworks at a rate of approximately $9800 per year.Their service provides sales, tax and assessment data readily available to the public. Nelson proposed the county sign a 5-year contract to lock in that cost. Almost every county in Nebraska uses GWorks to track their data and make it available to the public. Sidwell is the only other company that Nelson is aware of that offers this service. Commissioner Jeff Metz asked Nelson to get an estimate from Sidwell and to ensure that their current programs will work easily with Sidwell’s GIS programs. This estimate will be presented at the next meeting and a decision will be made.

Commissioners opened bids with County Attorney Fellhoelter for the county owned property. For the Broadwater property (Block 2, Lot 13) there were two bids:Yeager $500.05, Camara $251. For the Bayard 5 acre parcel (2757), Pappas Farms $5,610. No bid was entered for the Northport property (Block 26, Lot 2).There was discussion about putting this lot on a public auction but no action was taken. Fellhoelter needs to get tax numbers to the city of Bayard for those lots in town as they are interested. Bids were accepted fromYeager and Pappas Farms.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation sent a contract to the county road department for a change in maintenance of the recreation road. The contract states that the City of Bridgeport will be responsible for the maintenance of this road from now on.
