School finance meets property tax relief

Families, schools, and teachers do a lot to support Nebraska kids, but sometimes they need more.That is where mentors fill the gap.They provide guidance, a hand on the shoulder, a source of support, and more. Nebraska has many such programs. Unfortunately, the need for mentors far outnumbers those who are available.

Report says build a prison, maybe two while you’re at it!

Every Nebraska kid should be given the opportunity to have their educational needs met, whether they live in Omaha or Scottsbluff. Every parent regardless of socio-economic status should have the ability to decide what is the best school to meet their child’s need.

Our current tax system fails Nebraskans and needs reform now. For too long, our tax code has not been competitive.We rank 29th in the country for personal income tax rate and 32nd for business income tax rate. And as all Nebraskans know, we have some of the highest property taxes in the country. From the Missouri River to Harrison, Nebraskans are demanding that their leaders have the courage to cut taxes.
