Brian was born December 18, 1957 in Chula Vista, California, in San Diego County, to Alex and Kathryn Keller.
He grew up in California, then moved to Minot, ND, where he attended elementary school. He attended Nekoma High School in Nekoma, ND. Growing up he was very into the outdoors and sports. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, basketball, and baseball. After graduating high school, he joined the Marine Corps and was a part of the North Dakota
Rough Riders. Brian served 4 years in the Marine Corps, and exited service in the year of 1980. He received a good conduct medal and an expert badge for the M16 rifle.
Afterwards, he attended WNCC College in Sidney, NE, and earned his degree as an auto body technician. Brian really enjoyed his auto body technician work and was very skilled in his profession. Places he worked include Preferred Auto Body in Orange, CA, and Caliber Collision.
After graduating, he returned to California where he was married and had a daughter, Hannah. He also later remarried and helped raise his three step-children, Kerri, Tamiko, and Matthew, to whom he was close and cared for as his own children. To his children he instilled his passion of valuing and enjoying the outdoors. He continued to share his enjoyment of archery, fishing and hunting with those he loved throughout his life.
Brian was the chairman of Riverside Archers, located in Riverside, CA, for several years, where he helped organize archery tournaments. Later, Brian went back to Nebraska to spend time with his family and get away from the city life. He resided in Gurley, NE, where he worked part time at Pittam Body Shop.
In 2023, Brian was diagnosed with cancer. Brian was raised Catholic and had a strong belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After 9 months of battling the disease, he went to be with the Lord. In all, he was a very loving, caring, and enthusiastic patriot who loved his country, family, and other friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alex Keller, and brother-in-law, Ray Jallen.
Surviving is his daughter Hannah, mother Kathryn Keller, siblings, Jeff (Helen) Keller, Vickie (Gary) Verke, Margaret Jallen,Todd (Melody) Keller, Bradley (Debbie) Keller, Mark (Namanet) Keller, Erin (Steven) Pinkerten, numerous nieces and nephews, and best friend, Elmo.
