Jesse Ochoa, 85, of Oshkosh, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 2, 2024, at the Garden County Health Services Hospital in Oshkosh.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Oshkosh, with Pastor Maynard McCarthy officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Broadwater.

Services will be streamed live and available to watch after the service on the our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/hbfunerals). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Jesse L. Ochoa was born February 13, 1939, in Huntley, Wyoming, to Margarito and Petra (Rosales) Ochoa.When he was an infant, the family moved to Broadwater. He attended school in Broadwater. After leaving school, he began working on the family farm. He enjoyed growing the beans, beets, corn and raising the animals.

In 1984 he moved to Oshkosh and began working on making chairs, working for a few years, and the Lisco fish farm, spending many years working for Don Bentley before retiring.

He will fondly be remembered as a good gentle man. He enjoyed Nebraska football, tinkering in the yard, growing a huge garden, and taking care of his siblings and friends. His greatest love was farming and had a deep connection to the land.

He is survived by his siblings, Julia Ochoa, Pauline (Ed) Tafoya, Patsy Maestas, Joe (Aiko) Ochoa, and Inez Ochoa, and many nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Phyllis (Joe) Biberos, Amador (Nellie) Ochoa, Emiliano Ochoa,Victor (Inez) Ochoa, Steve (Linda) Ochoa, Robert Ochoa; nephew Michael, brother-in-law, Henry Maestas, and other family members.
