Ann Elizabeth Blackstone Lott, 79

Ann enrolled inThe University of Nebraska Medical School in 1967 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She graduated with an MD in 1971.
She completed an internship at Georgetown University Medical Center and returned to Bridgeport to practice with her father. In 1974 she returned to Lincoln and enrolled in a dermatology residency program at the UNMC. She completed her training on the day she gave birth to her daughter, Susan.
Ann began practicing dermatology in 1978 and practiced dermatology in Lincoln until the end of 2015. She very much enjoyed her patients and was passionate about her work helping people. She attended many conferences and classes to keep herself informed and add to her skills as a dermatological surgeon.
In addition to her practice she became an avid runner, completing more than 40 marathons and innumerable shorter races. She very much relished her many running friends in Lincoln. She completed more than 13 Lincoln Marathons and traveled to run in other races, including marathons in New York, San Francisco, and Chicago. Her favorites included Grandmother’s Marathon in Duluth, MN, and Pike’s Peak Marathon in Colorado. She was devoted to her informal running group, theTurtles, runners who always finished, slow and sure.
Ann served and was seriously invested in several organizations in Lincoln, including the Lincoln- Lancaster Commission on the Status ofWomen, and the YWCA of Lincoln.
Ann is survived by her husband, Roger, her daughter Susan (Graham), and three grandchildren, Henry, 9, Clara, 5, and Beatrice, 2.
She is also survived by many people she touched by her work, in her community, and her many friends.
