Ronald Joseph Lundy, 92

Ronald Joseph Lundy began life’s journey at Wray, Colorado, on September 2, 1931, one of six boys born to Floyd Evans and Irene (Wilson) Lundy. He moved to Bridgeport, Nebraska, in 1933 and grew up in the farming communities eleven miles southwest of there.

Ronald began his education in 1937 at the old log school house known as The Glenn Dale District 123 School. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in May of 1949.

Ronald married Sandra Cynthia (Reed) on October 30, 1959, to which union three children were born: Amber, Aron, and Wyne.

Bridgeport Ronald accepted Christ as Savior at the age of nine and through the years taught Sunday school, was a member of the Gideon organization, and served on the Camp Rock board (American Sunday School Union). He served thirty- three years in government employment including the USDA, the U. S. Army (October 5, 1955 to July 5, 1957), and the U. S. Postal Service.

After retirement, he enjoyed farming and making “toys” for himself, his children, and grandchildren.

Ronald enjoyed many creative hobbies and interests throughout his life which included: photography, beekeeping, woodworking, and restoring “old things.”

At age 92, on October 22, 2023, Ronald concluded a life of humble service and entered his Heavenly home, and was, as he was known to quote, “ Absent from the body and present with the LORD” (II Corinthians 5:8).

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers (Don, Ed, Floyd Jr.,Victor), and his wife of 52 years.

He is survived by his brother Lyndall; his children Amber Ralee (Petersen), Aron F.

(and wife Angela), and Wyne Grace; his three grandchildren, Kate (John) Magers, Royal Christopher, and Reed Reagan; his great-grandchild Taggert John (Magers); and his numerous extended family members, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport, with Pastor Brent Rochester officiating. Family invites everyone to the Prairie Winds Community Center following graveside for a reception. Memorials can be given to the Bridgeport Alumni Association Scholarship Fund or Milk and Honey Ministries.
