KEARNEY—University of Nebraska at Kearney students won six events and once again claimed the top chapter award during a statewide business competition.

Bridgeport’s B Active group met on March 5 to talk about creative ideas to improve the walkability and rollability of the city of Bridgeport and discuss ways to create safe play areas for kids.

Community Action Partnership ofWestern Nebraska, Ameri-Corps Seniors and Bridgeport Elementary Schools are celebrating the Foster Grandparent program, nearly sixty years after the program began in Nebraska in 1965.

The Bridgeport Girl Scouts went on a field trip last Tuesday when they took a tour of the Bridgeport News-Blade and printing shop. Several girls and their parents took the opportunity to learn about the old-fashioned machines and see the original darkroom, where News-Blade staff developed film prior to the digital age.

Bridgeport Girl Scouts manned the concession stand and a cookie booth on Saturday and Sunday during the annual Lions Club basketball tournament last weekend.
