LINCOLN—832 students were awarded the Nebraska State FFA Degree at the 96th annual Nebraska FFA State Convention held April 3-5. The State FFA Degree is the highest degree bestowed by the Nebraska FFA.

Bridgeport and Bayard High School students spent Friday in Bridgeport at the Morrill County Courthouse for County Government Day. For the past several years, the two schools have come together to learn about the different branches of government, and the several offices and services that make up county government and court systems.

Oversight and accountability for the policy, resources, and taxpayer service record of the IRS has never been more needed or warranted.

The Morrill County Commissioners discussed the plans for the upcoming County Government Day on Friday, April 12.They also met as the Board of Equalization to approve a tax list correction to remove a trailer house that had been moved out of the county.

Board shuffles teachers for next school year

The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular meeting on April 8, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. All board members were present and unanimously approved the consent agenda which included the approval of minutes, financial reports, bills and payroll. They accepted the resignation of Janelle Galvan for the end of the 2023-2024 school year and approved offering a contract to Lindsey Ellis for the 2024-2025 school year.The board also approved the first reading of the Wellness Policy and changes to the 2024-2025 school calendar.
