Serving others this Thanksgiving
Serving others this Thanksgiving
As Americans, we’re fortunate to live in the greatest country in the history of the world.Thanksgiving provides us an opportunity each year to come together with loved ones to reflect and remember how blessed we are.We express gratitude for the successes of the past year and remember those who, through grit and determination, paved the way for us.We also reflect on the principles and values that have guided us throughout our lives. We have so much for which to be grateful. As Nebraskans, we’re blessed to live in a state that values family and faith, liberty and prosperity. 11/23/2023 03:00 AM

Fighting for long-term fiscal health
Fighting for long-term fiscal health
This week I supported a oneyear extension of current Farm Bill programs. While a conventional 5-year reauthorization of the Farm Bill is preferable, many of these critical programs lapsed September 30th.The current lapse shouldn’t affect 2023 crops, but a one-year extension was necessary to prevent reverting back to pre-1930s farm policy as we begin 2024. I’m pleased Congress has acted to ensure American producers will have another year of certainty as they work to put food on our table and fuel in our cars – and now the Agriculture Committees in the House and Senate can finish their work on a new and improved Farm Bill without putting agriculture producers in an impossible position. 11/23/2023 03:00 AM

Fourth grade classes visit Flowerfield
Flowerfield is a school in Banner County, Nebraska, that teaches kids what it was like in 1888. Before our class went to Flowerfield we had to prepare. First, we had to figure out what we were going to wear. The ladies had to wear dresses, but not your average dresses. The dresses were very vintage, plain in color, and long. Some also had flower prints. The gentlemen had to wear a long-sleeved button up shirt with a pair of blue jean pants. 11/16/2023 03:00 AM
