County board discusses changes to extension staffing positions

Sarah Paisley, the Morrill County Extension Educator/Unit Leader discussed the existing positions in her office and requested the flexibility to make some changes in roles and responsibilities. She updates the board on the progress in hiring a Food Nutrition Educator. She mentioned that there used to be two positions in the office, part time office manager and a full time teaching assistant, that were combined into one position the make it competitive. The challenge has been that when that individual is out of the office teaching, the office is closed.

Bulldog golfers finish second in home tourney

The Bridgeport boys golf team claimed a second-place finish at its home invitational held last Thursday at Court House & Jail Rock Golf Course. Bridgeport ended the 15-team tournament runner-up with a score of 362. Hemingford finished first with a winning total of 339.

CHADRON—Chadron State College students and employees gathered for the ninth annual Rising Sophomore awards ceremony Wednesday. Dr. Jim Powell,Vice President for Academic Affairs at Chadron State College, was the keynote speaker. He came to CSC in 2015 as the Dean for Assessment, Accreditation, Curriculum, and Education, Human Performance, Counseling, Psychology, and SocialWork. Powell, who became theVice President for Academic Affairs in 2020, is retiring at the end of June.
