Fall ReTree Planting program brings more trees to Bridgeport

Thanks to the Free Trees for Fall ReTree Planting program, an effort of the Nebraska Forest Service and the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, the community of Bridgeport received 10 trees again this fall for the ReTree Bridgeport project. Each year, the City of Bridgeport strives to plant additional trees to help promote the value of healthy trees for a healthy community.We are so thankful for the benefit of receiving these quality trees at no cost through this grant program.

Bridgeport alum Shawn Teppert, a 2022 graduate, has earned his American FFA Degree, the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. According to their website, the American FFA Degree “Shows an FFA member’s dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA Association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career. American FFA Degree recipients show promise for the future and have gone above and beyond to achieve excellence.”

Bridgeport Girl Scouts teamed up with the Morrill County Community Hospital Clinical Laboratory Department one afternoon last week to become scientists for the day.The group gathered at the hospital’s training center on Main Street on Tuesday after school, and all donned lab coats and protective goggles.
