Bridgeport’s famed Simple Co. has moved its coffee bar and flower shop from the location in the old Tarnished Halo building, on the southeast corner of 10th and Main Street, into its new location on the northwest corner of 11th and Main Street.This building was most recently occupied by Class and Sass, and before that wasWildman’s Bar and Grill.

Bridgeport High School Art Club traveled to Denver for their annual art trip recently to see the exhibit “All Stars: American Artists from The Phillips Collection”. This exhibit showcased some of the “Best of American art from the Washington, DCbased The Phillips Collection, one of the most celebrated collections of American art in the United States”, according to an online source about the exhibit.

Order now for 2024 conservation trees

The North Platte Natural Resource District (NRD) is now taking orders for 2024 conservation trees. Landowners are encouraged to place their orders as soon as possible since trees are sold on a first-come, firstserved basis. The district has 33 varieties of one to two-year-old bare-root trees and shrubs available plus 9 varieties of potted trees. Trees are sold in bundles of 10 per species. Bare-root trees are $1.10 each and potted trees are $2.20 each. NRD trees are not for resale.

The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular meeting on January 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school library. All board members were present, by a vote of 6-0, the consent agenda which included the approval of minutes, financial reports, bills and payroll. Consideration to approve the collective bargaining agreement with the BEA for the 2024-2025 school year was tabled. Consideration to accept the resignation of Jared Dean effective at the end of the 2023-2024 school year.The board approved his resignation with a 6-0 vote.
