A new custodial contract was agreed upon for the interim custodian and maintenance crew when commissioners met in regular session on Monday, July 24. Ryan Patterson and his son, Zeth Patterson, will be taking on the duties while the application process is open for the full-time position to be filled.

Hazel Ann Adams, 93, of Bridgeport, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Morrill County Community Hospital in Bridgeport. Her funeral service was Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, with Pastor Jonathan Berosek officiating. Interment followed at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery at Bridgeport. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Hazel’s honor be made in care of her family to be designated at a later time. Elloise McVicker, 91, of Lisco, Nebraska, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 11, 2023, in Bridgeport, Nebraska.

Clyde Berry, 85, of Angleton, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2023. He was born in Martin, South Dakota, to Iona (Jackeway) and Emmett M. Berry on October 25, 1937.

Gust N. Blackos, age 64, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023, of natural causes.

John Kreman, 91, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, went to heaven Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Community Hospital in Torrington, WY. He passed peacefully, with his children at his bedside, after several days of visits from family and friends. Services were held July 14, 2023, at the Henry Bible Church in Henry, NE, with Pastors Michael Meysenburg and Matt Parker officiating.

Playing in front of the home fans for the final time this season, the Bridgeport Bombers senior legion baseball team dropped a Class C doubleheader to the Sheridan County Regulators last Wednesday.
